        Curriculum or Pastoral Leadership

These courses each comprise five twilight sessions to support those new to each role through the year.  Please note these courses are run concurrently as they follow a similar structure.

Who are these courses for?

These courses are for teachers in their first or second year of Curriculum or Pastoral Leadership.

What are the objectives or outcomes?

The objectives of these courses are to:

  • Provide peer to peer support
  • Through reflection, develop a proactive support model (new to Pastoral Leadership)
  • Reflect on leadership in a subject capacity (new to Curriculum Leadership)

Practical information

The course is hosted at St Albans Girls' School with each twilight session running from 4.00pm to 5.30pm on:

  • Thursday, 28th September 2017
  • Wednesday, 22nd November 2017
  • Thursday, 25th January 2018
  • Wednesday, 18th April 2018
  • Wednesday, 6th June 2018

Sessions include:

  • Using coaching to celebrate achievements and solve problems
  • Identifying priorities, the art of delegation
  • Having difficult conversations
  • Leadership profiles and styles
  • Collaborative problem solving based on real scenarios
  • Sharing good practice

Teriy is an Assistant Head at St Albans Girls' School where she has responsibility for the curriculum and learning and teaching.
