Goal setting as part of your tool kit for growing resilience and reducing stress

This workshop will explore the science of goal setting, its impact on resilience and how it can be used to reduce stress, in particular exam stress in students.

What are the intended outcomes of the session?

In this workshop participants will:

  • Consider the science behind goal setting and what leading academics in this field know about goal setting in relation to students attainment.
  • Review a peer reviewed goalsetting tool known as the ATT (part of the world renowned Theory of Constraints business management set of tools) that many students are finding useful for planning and stress reduction.
  • Consider how goal setting tools can enhance pupil consultation meetings.
  • Enjoy guided practice such that you will be able to use and share the ATT with your students.

Meet the facilitator

Debi Roberts MA Ed is an educational author, emotional wellbeing facilitator, Mental Health First Aider, Assessor and mum to three children.  She has been delivering workshops and talks on wellbeing, goal setting and behaviour for over 20 years.
