This is a twilight session with a focus on self reflection, aspects of the role of an Assistant Headteacher, and preparing for interviews at leadership level.

This course will consist of two elements: a pre-recorded session will be distributed on 19th November and must be viewed by 2nd December (not 25th Nov as originally stated).

A live google meet will be held from 4:00pm on the following date for discussion and Q&A.

Who is this course for?

This session is ideal for established middle leaders considering their next steps to leadership position.

What are the objectives or outcomes?

In this twilight participants will:

  • Understand the role of and demands of an Assistant Headteacher
  • Receive practical, ‘tried and tested’ interview questions
  • Discuss applying for leadership positions

Meet the facilitator:

Vicki Blackburn started teaching in 2005 in a mixed comprehensive school in London. She has held the positions of; Deputy Curriculum Leader for PE, Curriculum Leader for PE, Head of Year and held responsibilities for Teaching and Learning as part of a secondment to SLT. During her journey to Senior Leadership Vicki also completed NPQML and NPQSL. Following this, she was successfully appointed as Assistant Headteacher at St Albans Girls’ School in 2017.
