Special Education Needs Co-ordinators
Meet the facilitator
Becky Jones is currently Inclusion Lead for 5 Primary schools in Oxfordshire and SENCO in two of those schools. Becky has 20-years’ experience in various roles within special educational needs including as a Teaching Assistant, a Yr 7 and 8 Nurture group teacher, a SENCO in a secondary school and Headteacher of a special school for children with a diagnosis of ASD. Becky is a SLE in SEN.
As a SENCO herself, Becky is passionate about the role of the SENCO in the strategic leadership of schools. Unfortunately, the role of SENCO can sometimes be misunderstood, undervalued and overlooked by schools. However, Becky believes that when deployed effectively, SENCOs are integral to strong school performance and enabling all children to achieve their ambitious outcomes, not only those with SEND.
