Appropriate Body Services
The Alban Teaching School Hub is an Appropriate Body for Early Career Teachers based in St. Albans. We provide support and quality assurance of the ECT Induction process for ECTs in England and work primarily but not exclusively, with schools in South Hertfordshire including Watford, Hertsmere, St. Albans, Harpenden, Dacorum, Welwyn and Three Rivers. We work with schools to ensure that their ECT assessment processes are robust, fair and consistent to ensure that all ECTs have the best opportunities to meet all the Teachers’ Standards at the end of their induction period. We will also provide Fidelity Checks to support schools who choose to deliver the Core Induction programme.
We use ECT Manager (renamed NQT Manager) system to provide you with a highly streamlined system for key documents, accessing resources and as a platform for accessing relevant training materials. Our regional team of ECT Induction leads provide a wealth of early career teacher experience to support and guide you in all phases of delivery. We pride ourselves on providing a service of Teachers for Teachers which ensures guidance is both current and relevant.
Register your ECT with the Alban TSH Appropriate Body here:
You will benefit from a highly bespoke service designed and delivered by experienced school leaders to give your ECTs the very best start to their teaching careers.
You are able to register with the Alban TSH for both the Appropriate Body (£199 for 2 years using the ECT Manager platform) and the Early Career Framework and where possible we recommend this. The only exception is for trainees from the Alban Federation who can follow our ECF framework but would need to align with an alternative Appropriate Body. We have made arrangements for this with the teaching school hub covering North Hertfordshire, Chiltern TSH, also at a price of £199 for the two years.
Equally a school can have one ECF provider and one AB service provider, if they wish.
The AB makes the final decision as to whether an ECT has satisfactorily met the Teachers’ Standards following the headteacher’s recommendation.
